Christie’s Modern American Art Auction: A Rare Collection of Early 20th-Century Masterpieces

Christie’s Modern American Art auction on April 17 will feature a strong selection of early 20th-century paintings, drawings and sculpture by leading masters of the Stieglitz Circle, Regionalism, Ashcan School and beyond. Headlining the sale are several extraordinary collections including Property from the Pick-Hines Collectionled by Jacob Lawrence’s celebratory Flower Woman alongside several paintings by the unparalleled Georgia O’Keeffe. Property from a Distinguished American Collection includes top-quality examples by masters Stuart Davis, Arthur Dove and Thomas Hart Benton. The sale is strongly represented by noteworthy female modernists from O’Keeffe to Henrietta Shore, Helen Torr and more. American illustration will also be highlighted with examples by Norman Rockwell, Maxfield Parrish and others.The sale exhibition will open at Rockefeller Center on Thursday, 10 April as part of the Modern New York sale week.
