Fortec & Higher Ground Education Celebrate the Inauguration of Two New Montessori Schools
On October 12, Fortec, a Miami-based real estate development company, Higher Ground Education, the largest and fastest-growing network of Montessori schools worldwide and Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to launch two new schools within the same 17,000-square-foot building: Guidepost Montessori and Academy of Thought and Industry at Hollywood Beach East.
Fueled by a demand for quality education centers in South Florida, the schools will serve over 150 pre-K, middle and high school students, bringing radically innovative educational programs to the Hollywood community. Higher Ground Education, which has over 100 Montessori centers throughout the country, continues to expand its impact into more communities within South Florida. The 20-year lease that Higher Ground Education signed with Fortec to operate the two schools, located at 2216 Hollywood Boulevard, forms a network of three schools in the region where students can access a high-quality Montessori education as young as 18 months and continue until 12th grade.
Helping to keep up with the increasing demand, in the last three years, Fortec has collaborated on 12 projects nationwide with Higher Ground Education.
Pablo Barreiro, chairman of Fortec, Martin Saidon, CEO and co-founder of Fortec, and Ray Girn, CEO of Higher Ground Education, were joined by Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy and other community leaders, along with parents and students, to celebrate this important neighborhood milestone.
