Food lovers from Miami and beyond will have a new reason to visit Puerto Rico this spring, as the island hosts its first-ever Puerto Rico Wine & Food Festival from April 3-6, 2025. The highly anticipated event, presented by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, is set to take over La Concha Resort in San Juan and other landmark venues across the island. Created by restaurateur Robert Weakley, the four-day festival will showcase Puerto Rico’s rich culinary heritage and emerging chef talent while welcoming internationally renowned chefs, mixologists, and sommeliers for an immersive gastronomic experience.

“Puerto Rico’s incredible culinary culture and heritage are finally gaining the global recognition they deserve,” Weakley said. “This festival is more than a celebration of our cuisine—it’s a commitment to the community, ensuring that the island’s rich culinary legacy continues to inspire and thrive for generations.”
A World-Class Culinary Lineup
Puerto Rico Wine & Food Festival will feature an impressive roster of culinary heavyweights, including Mario Pagán, Maneet Chauhan, Andrew Zimmern, Antonia Lofaso, Claudette Zepeda, Marc Murphy, and Anne Burrell, alongside local stars like Giorgio Rapicavoli, Jose Enrique, and Juan Jose Cuevas. Events range from intimate seated dinners and wine tastings to high-energy walk-around experiences like the Thursday Night Opening Reception, Barrio Bites, and Ritmo y Raíces. The festival’s marquee event, La Gran Placita, will bring together more than 20 chefs and 75 wineries for a grand tasting experience at the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña.
Visa Banco Popular serves as the official credit card sponsor, offering exclusive perks to cardholders. “This event is a celebration of culture, community, and the passion that unites us,” said Visa Country Manager Luis Guerra. “At Visa, we are dedicated to fostering connections and supporting small and micro merchants who are essential to our economy.”

A Boost for Puerto Rico’s Tourism and Local Economy
For Puerto Rico, the festival represents more than just a food event—it’s a strategic effort to boost tourism, entrepreneurship, and the local economy. “Bringing together internationally renowned culinary names with our exceptional local talent, this festival showcases Puerto Rico’s rich culinary heritage while strengthening the tourism industry,” said Willianette Robles, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.
With tickets starting at $125, attendees can customize their experience with various event packages. Visa Banco Popular cardholders receive an exclusive 15% discount on all events. Beyond its culinary impact, the festival will also support local farmers and businesses by promoting Puerto Rican-grown products, and a portion of proceeds will benefit Puerto Rico Eats for Good, a nonprofit focused on culinary education and career development.

As Miami’s food scene continues to embrace Puerto Rican flavors, this festival offers the perfect opportunity for food enthusiasts to experience the island’s world-class gastronomy firsthand.
