GUCCI Appoints Demna as New Artistic Director, Effective July 2025

Kering and Gucci have officially announced the appointment of Demna as the new Artistic Director of the House, effective early July 2025. Demna, who has led Balenciaga’s creative direction since 2015, is widely recognized for reshaping modern luxury and establishing a strong influence in the fashion industry.

François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO of Kering, highlighted Demna’s impact on both Balenciaga and the group's overall success, stating that his “creative power is exactly what Gucci needs.” Pinault expressed gratitude for Demna’s contributions over the past decade and anticipation for his leadership at Gucci.
Francesca Bellettini, Kering’s Deputy CEO in charge of Brand Development, emphasized Demna’s deep cultural understanding and ability to conceive visionary projects. She described his appointment as a pivotal step in revitalizing Gucci’s creative energy and looked forward to his collaboration with Gucci CEO Stefano Cantino.
Cantino praised Demna’s talent for balancing heritage and modernity, noting that Gucci’s solid foundation provides an ideal platform for his artistic vision. He expressed confidence that Demna’s leadership will reinforce Gucci’s status as a cultural and fashion authority.
