Sotheby's Unveils July Discoveries Sales: A Diverse Showcase of Art Across Eras and Media
Sotheby's is set to present its July Discoveries sales, offering an eclectic array of artworks spanning various media, regions, and eras. This exciting sale context brings together pieces from each of Sotheby’s Fine Art Departments, creating a unique opportunity for collectors to explore a rich tapestry of artistic expressions.
The sales feature paintings, prints, photographs, digital art, and sculptures created over the past 150 years. The event is divided into two distinct segments: Modern Discoveries and Contemporary Discoveries. Modern Discoveries highlights art from the early days of Impressionism through to the pioneering works of Abstract Expressionism. Contemporary Discoveries, on the other hand, focuses on art from the 1960s up to the present day.
Designed with today's collector in mind, the July Discoveries sales cater to both emerging buyers, who are encouraged to expand the scope of their collections, and seasoned connoisseurs whose collections already transcend traditional categories.
The Contemporary Discoveries auction will open for bidding on Tuesday, July 9th, with lots closing successively on Tuesday, July 16th. Additionally, the highlights exhibition will be available for viewing at Sotheby's York Avenue galleries starting Wednesday, July 10th.
