The Alinea Group Returns to Faena Miami Beach to Celebrate 20th Anniversary Tour, April 30 - May 25

Alinea, the Michelin 3-star restaurant helmed by Chef Grant Achatz, is celebrating two decades of culinary excellence with a special anniversary collaboration at Faena Miami Beach from April 30th to May 25th. Set within the striking, gold-adorned Pao restaurant, this exclusive collaboration is the second destination  in Alinea’s 20th Anniversary Tour, alongside  Brooklyn, NY, and Beverly Hills, CA.



When Chef Achatz and the team at Alinea set out 20 years ago, their goal was simple: to create one of the best restaurants in the world. Today, Alinea is a consistent powerhouse of accolades, including Michelin 3-stars and James Beard Awards. As the restaurant reflects on its remarkable journey, it is now turning to its next chapter — one that celebrates not only Alinea’s success, but the community, partners, alumni, and guests who made it possible.


“Over the years, we have had the privilege of working with an incredible team, building strong relationships with farmers, purveyors, and wine makers, and forging lasting friendships with industry peers around the world,” said Chef Grant Achatz. “We are grateful for the journey, and what better way to celebrate than by bringing the Alinea experience to new cities and sharing it with our loyal guests, while also inspiring our team and reconnecting with industry friends and partners.”


The Alinea Group’s 20th Anniversary Tour: The Why and The How


This anniversary tour is a rare opportunity for guests to experience Alinea’s extraordinary cuisine in different settings, highlighting the influence of each host city’s unique ingredients and culinary traditions. Chef Achatz and his team will work alongside local chefs and purveyors to create dishes that reflect Alinea’s innovative spirit while celebrating the flavors of each city.



The decision to take Alinea on the road is also about growth. Many members of the Alinea team, most of whom are young and have not had the opportunity to travel extensively, will have the chance to immerse themselves in a new city and culture. The experience promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the team to deepen their craft and forge new bonds.


A Shared Past Between Alinea and Faena Miami Beach


In 2015, Alinea hit  the road to celebrate its 10th anniversary, hosting pop-ups in Madrid and Miami while its Chicago home underwent renovations. In early 2016, Chef Grant Achatz and the Alinea team brought their vision to Miami, collaborating with the Faena Miami Beach team to create an Alinea experience infused with local influences— set against Faena’s signature blend of artistry and grandeur.



Locations and Dates


Faena Miami Beach welcomes back Alinea for a highly anticipated return to its world of art, culture, and gastronomy. Following a groundbreaking residency in 2016, this collaboration once again brings Alinea’s visionary cuisine into Faena’s theatrical setting, offering an unparalleled cultural experience that will continue to inspire the new pop-up. Timed alongside the excitement of the F1 Miami Grand Prix, the collaboration promises a vibrant and dynamic celebration.


An Immersive and Collaborative Experience


The 20th anniversary tour will be far from an exact replica of Alinea’s Chicago flagship. While Alinea’s exceptional standard of excellence will remain intact, each stop will incorporate local influences and flavors, resulting in a truly collaborative experience. Partnerships with local chefs will foster creativity and innovation, with new ideas and techniques being shared both ways.



Each residency will feature a specially designed menu that draws inspiration from the local culture, offering at least one unique dish per city. While iconic Alinea staples will be featured throughout the menu, the tour will also reflect the challenges and inspirations of cooking outside the restaurant’s Chicago home base. This will be a celebration not only of Alinea’s past, but also of the future of the culinary world.


Several tour stops will also feature pop-ups of The Alinea Group’s two award-winning cocktail bars, The Aviary and The Office. The Aviary is best known for its cocktails with theatrical, playful and lavish presentations, along with its groundbreaking NA program. The Office is a hidden speakeasy celebrated for its rare spirits and dusty bottles, where the bartending staff enjoy when guests order a dealer’s choice.


A Love Letter to the Industry


Chef Achatz sees this anniversary tour as more than just a celebration of Alinea. It is a chance to give back to the restaurant industry at large. “If we do this right, this celebration will also serve as a love letter to the entire restaurant and hospitality industry. We are grateful for the opportunities and relationships that have shaped us, and we want to share that gratitude with the broader community that continues to inspire us.”
