The South Florida Pride Concert Band announced its season-concluding concert, Heroes and Villains Presented by the Bears of South Florida, is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, at 7 p.m. at Wells Hall at The Parker.

This one-night-only performance will feature two Broadway superstars, Tony Award winning vocalist Frances Ruffelle and Tony and Grammy Award nominee Max von Essen.
“This concert will take the listeners on a journey exploring the greatest heroes of our time and as well as the dastardliest villains,” said Dan Bassett, artistic director of the South Florida Pride Concert Band. “From history to the silver screen and Broadway, the band will flawlessly perform beloved musical themes and songs from Captain America to Darth Vader and everything in-between.”
Ruffelle starred as the original Éponine in the first English-language productions of Les Misérables in London’s West End and on Broadway, winning the 1987 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical among many other prominent roles. von Essen is a Tony nominated singer and actor who us currently starring as Billy Flynn in Chicago on Broadway and might be best known for his role as Henri Baurel in the award-winning production of An American in Paris on Broadway.
The South Florida Pride Bands is celebrating its 38th season and is the oldest LGBTQ+ arts and cultural organization in the state of Florida.
