Milan, Italy – Luxury Travel Guide

Milan might be overlooked as a must-visit destination in Italy, but we highly recommend adding it to your itinerary. Unlike cities that rely heavily on tourism, Milan offers an authentic Italian experience. You can indulge in high-quality food, rich culture and arts, enjoy world-class shopping, leisurely strolls, and discover everything else this multifaceted city has to offer.

Flying from Miami to Milan typically takes about 12 hours, with a layover in Madrid or Frankfurt. From Milan Malpensa Airport, it’s about a 30-minute trip to the city center.

MILAN'S RICH CULTURE

Home to Milan Fashion Week, Milan Design Week, and the Milan Furniture Fair (Salone Internazionale del Mobile), among others, art, design, and fashion are deeply ingrained in Milan’s cultural fabric.

As one of the most vibrant fashion capitals in the world, Milan is home of all luxury Italian brands and the place for shopping. Via Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga are just one of the few places to shop.

The city hosts several museums and creative institutions, including the Leonardo da Vinci Museum, Museo del Novecento, the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts, the Gallerie d’Italia, the Fondazione Prada, Pinacoteca di Brera, Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology Triennale di Milano, The Contemporary Art Pavilion and many more.

Not to be missed is the Milan Cathedral, the fifth-largest church in the world, and the city’s most iconic landmark. This magnificent Gothic cathedral was initiated in the late 14th century. Another must-see is one of the world’s most famous and captivating paintings – Leonardo da Vinci’s Cenacolo (The Last Supper), located in Milano. For a charming experience, explore the Navigli District with its waterfront restaurants and cafes. Additionally, La Scala stands as a historic opera house in Milan, Italy.
